Confusion regarding TRV

I am an international student having open work permit at this moment. I have planned to go India in the end of December. I am confused regarding TRV that is it necessary to have And show TRV while returning canada from india?
Is work permit won’t be enough????1

You need a valid TRV to travel to Canada, a study permit or work permit are not travel documents they only allow you to study or work in Canada. No valid TRV means no travel back or entry to Canada

Your work permit means nothing to foreign countries, so in order to board a flight from India back to Canada, work permit wouldn't help.
Hence you need a visa to enter Canada, even to board the flight to Canada.
Apply for a TRV.
