Hi guys!

I just got a response from the Canadian embassy on study permit application with rejection based on the following reasons:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on family ties in Canada and your country of residence
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on limited work prospect in your country of residence
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.

The thing is I am applying for a scientific research exchange program and on the school website it was written that conducting a research in the lab is considered work and a study permit is needed not the visitor visa since i won't be taking classes so that's why i applied for it. I have all the documents prepared and uploaded, the only thing i cant think off now is that i didn't add a letter since it was written there optional. Also, i am applying outside my country of origin since i'm doing my masters in a different country where i did my bachelors so maybe they are looking at that and complaining? Another thing is the research is part of my thesis and i will return after it to complete my thesis and defend so i'm not understanding why they think i will not return!!
Or is it because i'm from a developing country? I'm sorry for the grammatical errors but this news caught me unawares andd i'm highly distressed. Now i have a rejection to my name which will no doubt hurt future applications!! Can I reapply and add the letter of explanation or am i doomed already?

Thank you for your responses. I found this site online with good reviews.

If you plan to reapply then get the gcms report to see if there are any additional notes there.
