Received PPR via email (confused)

Hi Guys,

Hope someone can shed some light on this. So I got an email from the following email address: ABDBI-imautoreply@international.gc.ca (My visa office is in Abu Dhabi since I applied from Pakistan) and on my GC Key account, my application still says: reviewing eligibility and I received my biometrics correspondence letter on July 28, and nothing after that. It says to You must include a copy of this letter with your submission, but it does not have any attachment, so can I just print / show this email at the VFS? The email says the following:

Hey, not an expert, but yes the email is the letter so print it out. I would read this page first for information on what documents to include and where to submit to. Congratulations!

Is the letter, is the following text present ?

"This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application.

Passport requirements

• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.
• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.
• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport."

If this is not the case, then they probably require your passport for some other reason than visa stamping and you should submit your passport ASAP to avoid delaying your application.

The thing is that I had my cousin in Canada follow up with his MP office who sent an email to the visa office and got a response 10 days ago saying that my application was approved on July 29 and that they will stamp the visa and send my passport but I never submitted my passport and waited about 10 days after receiving my correspondence letter to receive a request or decision but nothing came up. So the MP's office emailed again 2 days ago and today I received this email from the visa office for my passport request.... Not sure why they would not send a proper letter or update my GC account.....

So the MP's office emailed again 2 days ago and today I received this email from the visa office for my passport request.... From what I have seen on this forum, they don't update your GC account when they ask for your passport. They only update it after it has been stamped. Email is their only means of communicating passport requests.

Well hopefully that's the case, I am just going to print out this email since I don't have a proper PPR request letter and submit it with my passport and any courier fees. Thanks again

Print and submit it and see what's the result, no harm will happen by doing so. if it's an approval, then that's good news.

It was me who had the issue and yes, it was an approval. All I did was print out that email and submitted along with my passport.

So the MP gave you the passport request letter, we have in the same boat the MP infomed us that my visa has been approved, but passport request not yet received...

Hey There, sorry for the late response. Have not been that active in this forum anymore.

So the thing is an email was sent to the MP and then they contact the immigration department (they don't send you a letter for PPR), so basically after the MP contacted the immigration department, They then sent a letter via email for PPR rather than uploading it on the portal of my cic account.. Hope this helps.
