GIFT DEED

Hi,

So my father transferred funds in my account using multiple transactions. And my mother also transferred some funds using a single transaction. Do I need to get two separate gift deeds, affidavits and LOEs made now? Also, my dad used a combination of cheque and netbanking, is that okay?

Thanks!

A bit of a weird scenario. Gift deeds are usually funds sent in bulk or a single transaction.

Of course there is no hard and fast rule.
First off get the bank balance showing sufficient funds. Then get a notarized letter from your father and mother saying they gifted you the amount and also attach statements from your bank reflecting the same.

Also mention the same in a letter of explanation to be on the safe side.

I think this should suffice.

With cash transactions it will be hard for you to prove the point and case officer may not believe the source of funds in this situation. Now that the money is already in the account, this is a deadlock situation.
