My TRV is valid will Aug, 2020 and my master's will be finished in this Dec. I will take the PGWP from border, and If I get the PGWP, can I travel to my home country on the same TRV (Student Category) or not? or shall I need a work visa to travel ?

Yes. TRV will be sufficient , otherwise even an implied status ( after pgwp application ) is sufficient for your travel as long as TRV is valid.

You can travel with the same TRV until it expires.

You lose implied status once you leave Canada.
Is there any harm if I lose the implied status? I mean I'll have the PGWP ( Which I'll take from Border ), after that I'll leave Canada for couple of months and will return in 4 months. Will there be any issue at port of entry, because I've heard that you need a work visa to travel if you hold a PGWP.

As long as you have your PGWP approval at that point there will be no problem. You can enter and start working.

It is mentioned that
When you return to Canada:

  • You may enter as a student if your study permit is still valid.
But I have the work permit when I will return to Canada, Will it effect any thing ?
Please check the second link provided above.

As long as your TRV is valid and you have a PGWP or have applied for it , you can travel. It is the TRV which will allow you to travel . PGWP application or a physical permit only supplements the purpose for which the TRV is there. If you have the PGWP but no TRV or expired TRV , you cannot travel. Please remember for entry into Canada a TRV would be required.

If your TRV expires while you are outside Canada and you have a valid PGWP, you have to apply for fresh TRV from the place you are.
