Hi,

I am a resident of India and I have applied for Canadian PR along with my wife. I got my ITA on Feb'19 and had submitted all our documents by 15-Mar'19.
I got a letter 2 weeks back, asking me to send our passports for issuing permanent residence visa. Now here is my issue. My wife (dependent) is currently in Canada on a student visa and I am in India. Mail had clearly stated that for people residing in India passports need to submitted through a third party service provider (VFS) and I have done that. However, there is no information given on how and where to submit my wife's passport. We have been trying to get this information for the past 2 weeks but have no clear answer. We had filled up the IRCC web form also but haven't got a response yet.

Would anyone here know what to do if the dependent and applicant are in two different countries?

ideally you should receive a response for webform in about 10 days. but instead of waiting your wife can call the CIC help number and tell them. they would update the info and she would be advised to contact the local consulate
