Hello Everyone !

I am an Indian National holding valid USA Tourist Visa and recently got the Canadian PR.
My question to you all is

Can I fly in from Delhi to Detroit and then by land cross the Detroit Windsor Tunnel to reach my destination i.e. Windsor ?

Few problems along the way, please advise

1. The immigration check at the airport (Delhi) will be asking as to where I m gonna stay in USA and when m returning back ( mine is a one way ticket)

2. The same check will be held at the Detroit Airport as they will asking about the address of stay and return date.

What should I reply in both cases and is it a good way if I travel like that instead of travelling to Toronto and then catch a connecting flight to Windsor.

My wife will be receiving me at the Detroit airport ( just to clarify).

Please reply back urgently.

Thanks in advance

Why couldn't you just tell the truth in both cases? Could you not tell them that the plan is not to come back as you have Canadian PR? Then tell the US immigration that the plan is to drive from Detroit to Windsor to land in Canada as PR. I assume you would have a Canadian address as well as proof of your Canadian PR as well as proof that your spouse lives in Canada.

If you are really worried about it just take the Delhi to Toronto direct flight. You could also drive from Toronto to Windsor it would take about 4 hours.

Well I have a Canadian address as well as my wife is a Canadian citizen and I will mention it all but just wondering whether the immigration officer at both point will deny stating they don't allow to travel like that

Well I do not think Delhi immigration can stop you from leaving if you are showing you have a valid visa to enter the country your are going to, plus your PR status in Canada.

I'm guessing US immigration/customs would want to know what is the purpose of your stay in their country and when do you intend to leave. If you can show that you plan to land in Canada as a PR that should be enough.

Now im not sure if they will give you any problems for having only a one way ticket.....but in my mind you have documentation to land as PR so that should be enough. Again I say should because no one can say for sure what the officer would do, if its that much of a worry just go direct to Toronto, then its about 1 hour flight to Windsor.
