Work visa and PGWP

Hi,
This is a bit of a confusing question.

I was issued with a PGWP+TRV (which says 'work visa') from outside Canada in September 2018 valid until May 2020 (validity of my old passport at that time). But I have not used it till now (not travelled to Canada since it was issued). In the meantime, I have had to renew my passport.

I would now like to travel to Canada on 'visit'. Can I travel on this visa with my new passport? And can I use it as a visit visa' since I believe the PGWP on my old passport may not be valid anymore?

Why do you believe its not valid? If its valid its valid even if its on old passport, you just need to carry both passports. Now you might get some questions about why you are only coming now to work at airport.
