Hi gurus,
Need your help.. My father is travelling and spending his time with us from 2016 May here in Canada. Below are his trip details:

- May 15 2016 - first entry on multiple entry visitor visa valid till 2025.

- Visitor extension applied on 11th Oct 2016 and got approval with visitor record till 31 st Jan 2018

- He travelled back to home country on 16th Jan 2017.

- Got back in canada again on 11th April 2017.
This time he stayed until the expiry of visitor record issued before till Jan 2018.

- Went back to home country on 27th Jan 2018.

- Travelled back again to Canada on 22nd April 2018. No stamp on passport meaning 6 months.

- We applied extension for 4 months in September 2018 and got approval until 28th feb 2019.

- He travelled back to home country on 16th Feb 2019.

- On his way back to Canada on 11th April 2019, I accompanied him since I also went for 2 weeks vacation to home country.

- The CBSA pulled us into secondary and told me that your father is almost living here instead of visiting so next time they will not allow that way. The officer suggested that if he wants to stay longer in canada then he should apply PGP super visa program before he travels back again. We were let go this time.

- In the meantime I was able to get the PGP PR invitation to sponsor my father for 2019 program. The application is submitted and ecas shows application recieved on Jun 10 2019.

Now, my question is , what are my chances if I apply an extension for my father again by 9th Oct for another 6 months?

In other words, please suggest the best possible option for me so I can extend my father’s stay while PR is in progress.

About his family ties back home- He is a retired govt employee who receives pension, has own house and some land , he got daughters who looks after him when he is back home(however only for a shorter duration) .

Thanks

Since you have already submitted the PR application, your chances of an extension are pretty good. In your application for the extension, make sure you tell IRCC that you have applied for your father's PR

Would disagree. They aren’t related. Given that your father has essentially been spending 2-3 months at home and the rest of the time in Canada and he has already been advised that he should not remain in Canada for another long visit he should probably return home for the next 6 months. You should try but definitely no guarantees. You really should have applied for a supervisa if your father wanted to spend long stretches in Canada.

What are you worried about? If extension gets denied, it won't harm his PR prospects in any ways. So if he is really needed, why not go ahead try applying for extension and see?

If you’ve already been warned, don’t take the risk so your dad could lose his visitors visa. This is Canada, anything can be ripped off you in a blink of an eye unless you’re a citizen.
