Hi Guys, this is my first time posting thread here, so if I make any mistake, please forgive me....

I applied for PGWP on 04/29/2019 and it got approved on 06/10/2019 (way faster than normal processing time). I started working on 05/13/2019 under implied status, and the PGWP will expire on 06/08/2020. I did my counting and I will have one year of working experience working in Canada by 05/08/2020, so I am wondering if I will be able to apply under Canadian Experience Class of express entry and Bridging Open Work Permit within such a tight time frame before my PGWP expires? (Dont want to lose my job:()

Did a precalculation and after one year of working in Canada, I will have 482 crs, so I think I should be good if the crs would not grow insanely (finger crossed).

Situation:
No prior working experience before this job.
Working in Ontario.
Completed master degree in Ontario.

I appreciate every reply and thanks, guys, for answering my concern.
You should be fine. As long as you have everything ready and submit as soon as possible after you get your ITA, you will get AOR right away and be able to apply for a BOWP.

the key to a successfully BOWP is your on going PR application , if I were you , I will run through the " come to Canada " tool , get the document checklist and get everything ready to go as soon as you got your PR application number . the only thing worries me in your case is that you will have to apply for BOWP 30 days prior to your current status expires .

so fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Does it mean person's BOWP application will be rejected if they apply in less than 30 days? On the eligibility about BOWP it says if your status expires in 4 months or less. there is no indication that you MUST apply before 30 days or that you will be refused... It only says it's recommended to apply 30 days before but not as a must... Or I'm lost..

maybe read the link below ? I found it's very helpful

also, I believe the 4 months for BOWP is if you have more than 4 months left on your current work permit they will refuse you , perhaps .

Sorry. I meant to say: If a person can apply for BOWP if they have submitted PR and their status expires in 20 days. Isn't it too late? Because I thought you have to apply at least 30 days BEFORE your current status expires to be eligible for BOWP.

Nope, not at all. You can apply for the BOWP up to and including the day your previous permit expires if you submit electronically (paper-based BOWP applications have to be received by the date that your current permit expires). You just cannot apply more than 4 months before your current work permit expires, after your work permit expires, or before you get your AOR.

Hi everyone,
I am going to be in same situation. But things will be different and uncertain due to COVID 19.
Here is my situation
I am graduating from a 1 year course in April 2020. My study permit expires on 31 july 2020. I need 1 year of experience to get enough CRS to get invitation hopefully. But due to COVID 19, I am not sure if i will be able to secure a NOC 0, A or B job. I wanted to apply for PGWP after I get a offer in hand. But now things doesn't seem to be in my favor. Any advise how can i manage?

IRCC has not made any announcements about this, so no one knows. If you are trying to go for PR, you should consider taking another one year course to get a 3 year PGWP. Many who only get one year permits never get the required experience to qualify for CEC, even without the added complication of COVID-19.

Best option is to take another 1 year program so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP. It's generally quite challenging to turn a 1 year PGWP into PR. This is a risky approach and you would be much better off having a 3 year PGWP.

Thanks @canuck_in_uk and @scylla, I had a offer for next study program starting in May which I withdrew in February as I wanted to work in regulated field and acquiring that licence will take 1-2 months as I already had related work experience. It would save both international tuition and time. After that it would be much easier to find job. It is just this COVID 19 that has now become a big hurdle to cross. Due to this my practical test for the licence is also postponed indefinitely. I would consider this just my bad luck. Now I would only get next offer for studies in September Intake. till then I cant work to get my experience counted. Does work experience gets counted for PR if we work in the break between start of two programs??

This work experience will not count towards PR. You will only be able to count your work experience towards PR once you've submitted your PGWP application.

Hi there, I haven't entered the pool yet. As per instruction of IRCC, I can only enter the pool on or after 5/12/2020. Didn't want to take others' chances...
