Hi everyone
We already know that there is 70.000 people backlog and its big federal issue. Immigration is federal and it doesn't matter where you are

But I'm just trying to think logical
IRB says that around 800 people per month are crossing border in Quebec and only 16 in Brithish Columbia
So agents are VERY busy in Montreal and not that busy in Vancouver...
Does that possibly mean that my interview will be scheduled faster in there? Or immigration agents will be doing nothing in Vancouver while there co workers in Montreal hiring 25 more decision makers?)

I can be wrong but it's kinda make sense

More resources have been allocated to Quebec and hearings can be done by video.

You have only waiting since December you don’t have anything to complain about versus others who have been waiting 2+ years and new programs have been initiated which have decreased processing times for many. The best thing to do is find employment and get off welfare if you receive it, establish yourself in Canada, volunteer, find permanent housing, take language classes if needed, etc. Instead of obsessing about whether you receive an email from IRCC or when your hearing will be try to do things that will help you if you do get approved.

I wish you luck in applying logic to the IRB, but would suggest that you also have to calculate the official language of the Hearings (French or English). I've read that Haitians are over-represented within the arrival stream coming up through the USA, so French decisions require French decision-makers, and this is only one of many other considerations like prioritizing cases which are not run-of-the-mill, security, criminality, and the competing lines of business like Appeals versus initial claims.

There are a many variables that require loads of consideration and the IRB has never been noted for their efficiency to begin with, so you're either patient or you're in for hundreds of sleepless nights.

Also, would claimants really want rapid decision-making if the answer was negative? Nope....
