Past international students in Canada, were you able to use NOC 4012 work experience in applying?

Hi everyone,

I am currently an international student living in Ontario with a PGWP that does not have too much time left, and unfortunately I decided to pursue a Masters after graduating from a Bachelor's and when I got my PWGP (2.5 years ago), so I don't have enough work experience in Canada on my PGWP to apply under some programs like CEC.

As many other international students, I was able to work as teaching assistant at the University for many semesters. I was also working as a laboratory research assistant to help with various projects at my university. I was paid a fixed amount per semester for each job. Will I be able to count this toward my work experience if I apply under FSW?

I was not able to find a consistent answer on the forums and was hoping someone would share their experience and help me apply for FSW?

I called CIC today and they said as long as I held a PWGP it should count under FSW. I also found this link which should help clear out my question.
Ask your question in the CEC section of the forum - that's where you'll get the best / most accurate answer. Your situation is complex since you went back to pursue your MA while your PGWP was still valid. Any response given by the CIC help desk should be ignored since they can only answer the most basic questions.
