Hello everyone,

I am sponsoring my husband who lives with me in Canada for PR and work permit. Its in process and he only has a visitor status right now.

Since we are married and he has no SIN, whats the best way to file my taxes so i could get the most back. Can i claim him as my dependent? Since it is only my income for now.

Kindly advice

Thanks

We had the same situation (I had no SIN and wasn't working) and we called CRA and were told to put 000000000 as my SIN. Went through with no issues.

Yes you can file him as dependent. For Son, just add 000000000 and it would go through
