Hi Canadavisa Forum Seniors,

Need an immediate help on AVR rule.
I am travelling to Canada in March 2016 through Air to complete the PR Landing process and come back in 2 days.
My current H1B Stamped visa is expired but have an approved I-797 and I-94 till 2017.

Can you please share immigration process using AVR while coming back to USA from Pearson?
Documentation and Details will be helpful.

Thanks a lot!

If you have an approved I-797 with a valid I-94 you should be good. I had the same problem and it was very easy/smooth at the border.
Make sure you return within 30 days so that AVR is applicable.

Hi Sachin,

Thanks a lot for your response. Did you come by Airport. How is the AVR process at Pearson.
Because most of the experiences shared are through Road.

Appreciate your response.

I visited canada last week. I entered canada on 5/18 and returned back on 5/22. Both thru rainbow bridge.

When I checked my i-94 online, I only see entry for 5/18, but no POE mentioned there.

I do not see any entry of getting back into USA on 5/22.

I crossed thru rainbow bridge & the CBP officer verified the passport & I-797 on my way back.

Do I need to worry as there is no arrival record available online till date ?

What should I do ?

One more thing. There was no US CBP checking while getting into Canada. So I believe Canada would have passed my departure information to USA.

Hi sachin ,

My spouse has an expired H1 B visa stamp for X company. He changed his employer and how has an extension approval letter and valid I94 for company B. Can he still be application for AVR ??? Since he is in different company now , does he have to go for visa interview stamping ???

Please respond
