Hi guys,

I will be moving to Vancouver from India in September with my CoPR. We plan to ship some of our essential goods around the time we leave India.

Now, since we won't be having a permanent address for a while, I was thinking whether it was possible to have our shipment arrive in Calgary, where my brother is based. Will the Border Security officials allow it, even though we have made our PR landing in Vancouver?

I would be grateful if any one of you could enlighten me on this.

Regards

What do you consider essential items? Just a box of stuff or a container?
Books, a few utensils, clothes - basically a few boxes. My primary concern is whether the immigration officials will be okay with my stuff arriving in Calgary and not Vancouver, which is my port of landing.

You can send that stuff to your brother, immigration or customs won't care. They would not know where you are going to land in the first place..
