Moved from H1 to H4 too soon..EAD date and H4 date mismatch

I had recently applied for change of status from H1 to H4 with EAD.

I got both approval notices today.

My H4 (i539) kicks in from the Dec-15th 2017.

EAD approval notice (i765) is dated Nov-7th 2017 (I received this today Nov-14th)...says EAD card has separately been mailed.

I was wondering can I start working using EAD immediately (once i get my card) or do I need to wait till Dec-15th 2017 when my H4 kicks in.

All this has come from the Nebraska office.

Any guidance!??

You have to wait till December 15 to start working because your EAD is based on H4 status. EAD card by default has the date when it's printed as from date.

honestly have had better luck getting responses here than elsewhere..thats why i posted this here even though i knew it was not related to Canada/EE
