After passport submission to the visa office, is passport tracking on the vfs website accurate? Does the status change accordingly or is it like ecas where it changes weeks after the fact?

well for my mom and dad I had linked their application so when the visa and COPR was issued it was updated in MyCic account with counterfoil (COPR) number along with expiry date

Hello,

I'm actually embarrassed to write this but I got a letter to submit the passport in just 3 months of submission in this corona times. I was such a fool that I didn't check the message. Email notification went into spam and I didn't log in for a month thinking it's just 3 months. I saw some people's profiles took a year+ recently.

Timeline - Submitted all the documents to IRCC on - May 16th
Got the letter to submit the passport on - Sept 7th
Checked this message on - Oct 8th

Now, the letter says that you need to submit the documents (Passport + Photographs + height/weight) within 30 days (in bold). It also says that in case, you cannot submit the documents, you. need to inform us. It also says that your application will not be refused if you cannot submit the documents within the specified time.

I talked to VFS and they said they do accept the delayed documents. I also messaged IRCC that it's delayed from my side without providing a detailed reason. I messaged on Oct 8th. Exactly 1 day after the due date and still waiting for the reply.

Now, is there anybody is in a similar bucket? Do I need to provide a genuine reason to IRCC? M waiting for their response. Also, since VFS cannot accept the documents in person, it will also take time until they send me the payment link and a courier person picks up the documents and my documents reach there. Will that be okay?

no need to worry about at my PR time I missed 2 passport request. just send webform to ircc they will send you letter again.
