Hi cisco,
No updates yet! I have gathered most of the documents requested but still waiting for medical claim history from ON and AB. I hope they come in soon because i have to respond by Dec 18th..

tinam, I literally sent 4.23 kilograms of paper work! You read that correctly, 4.23 kg. I printed all my bank statements, 6 years of it, taxes, medical records, rent agreements, electrical bills, cellphone, credit cards, cable, etc... 6 years of my life here in Canada. Also, I marked every time I got paid, or paid a bill [bank statements]. Lots of work, we will see what happens. Ecas still on "Decision Made", but no lines... no info what so ever. Good luck.

Was yous a CIT 0520 as well? They requested specific documents from me, i have all the electrical bills, cable bills, bank statements etc, now wondering if i should include them as well..what are your thoughts?

Tinam, I did not get a CIT 0520. I actually got a letter from the officer with specific documentation wanted. There was a list. But, during the interview [after test], I ask the officer why I was getting the letter?
Here is the conversation I had after test:
Me: why am I getting this letter?
Officer: I am not convinced [lost passport, couldn't prove around two years of residency]
Me: If I proved to you that I was here for the questioned time, can I become a Canadian Citizen?
Officer: Yes
Me: I am under the impression this process will take around 3 years!
Officer: [laughs] That was the old process, now it's much faster
Me: where do I send all the paper work?
Officer: Directly to me.

So, I went home. Stopped by the store, bought tonner, and printed over 4 kg of papers! Now, I did send all the paperwork with a detail explanation of what I did each day for two years [more like three]... Excel!
I guess, my recommendation will be to be extremely organized when sending paper work. Make it easier for them to see that you care. If residency is your issue, send as much as you can... I also send a graph explaining energy consumption for three years [and the actual bills]. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you very much Ivana. Mine is residency based on the fact that i do not have stamps in my passport reflecting my travels since 2011. So i guess i should send more than requested rather than wait and get another letter. I will definitely use some help...thank you very much.

Tinam, I was pretty lucky since I almost never use cash... even if I buy a $1 coffee at 7-11, I pay with debit. So, I was able to place my self in Canada almost everyday of the years in question. Also, when I was out of the county, I was able to proved that I was where I said I was. I showed transactions made before [in Canada], during [other country] and after I came back to Canada. To be honest, in a twisted way, I enjoyed putting together all the documentation. I learnt many patterns about myself that I did not know.
I included a presentation letter explaining what I had in the package [of documents], how to navigate thru the package, and why I included the documents I sent.

Wow..that's very impressive. After hearing from you, i gathered as many bills (electric, cable, credit cards etc) as possible and it's a lot. I have arranged them chronologically while i wait for the medical claims summaries. I also received a spreadsheet of my rent payment records from the landlord which i will attach as well. Thanks again for all the input, i truly truly appreciate ;D

Dear all,

I have got my Citizenship on Friday December 9th. Thanks to each and every one of you in this journey. Couldn't have done without all of your advice and support. I'm going to take short break and will be back in a month or two to apply citizenship for my wife and son.

I have one question, my son born in US and 6 years old. During my test and document verification, the officer told me you can apply for your son separately once you become Canadian and the process is faster. Can some one point me the link on how to take it further?
