Hi Guys

I am working on H1B , in NY. I have applied my TRV to canada 8 days back ( wednesday ) from NY office (went there and submitted with prepaid re USPS returned express mail ). How long does it take to process my visa , it has been said 17 days in the site. but i heard that people are getting in two days time. I want to spend my vacation with my sister and her family, but almost half of my time is gone waiting for the visa :(. The visa is of no use if i get it next week as I have to get back to my work on 1st week of Feb. Is there any way I can collect my visa earlier ?? Any one pls give me suggestion .

If i withdraw my application how long does it take to get my passport back. Can I go there and pick up my passport incase ??

thanks you all.

Hey! Did you get your visa eventually?? The website says starting Jan 7th 2013, all walk-in application will take the same time as mailed in application...I submitted my TRV app online on Jan 30th but still not hear back anything... can you provide some update if you get yours?

Hi all,

@TRV I submitted my documents online for Canadian TRV. Could you suggest me as to how I can withdraw my application?

I will greatly appreciate your timely response.

GOT A VISA AFTER ALMOST 20 Days

All -

I have applied in person at the NY consulate. I was told that it would take 14 days to get the Visa.
I have patiently waited the duration after which i sent atleast 10 mails for which there wasnt an answer. Not even to a single mail.

As my stay in the US was nearing an end, i decided to walk in to the consulate and withdraw my application. I reached the consulate and faced the most THE MMOST RUDE SECURITY EVER!. He said it would take 30 days and that he wouldnt let me in to the consulate and wanted me to wait instead.

I requested him and told him that there is finite possibility that the VISA might have been approved as it was time, so atleast let me do a status check at which time he just showed me the way out. When i told him that i wanted to take myh application back he let me in.

The second line officer was atleast listening to me and i told him a plan to which he agreed. The plan was that i woudl submit an URGENT REQUEST FORM to the consular officer and if the officer agrees to give me the VISA by this weekend(17 Mach) then i wait till this weekend else i would take my passport back.

THE OFFICERS INSIDE WERE NOT AS RUDE. She understood my situation and gave me my passport with my VISA stamped then and there.

Passports submitted @ NYC consulate - TRV status

Hello - I'm working out of New Jersey on L1A visa. I applied TRV online and after 20 days got confirmation to submit my passport for visa stamping at the nearest consulate (NYC being the nearest). On April 26th 2013 I submitted my passport at the consulate in a prepaid USPS mail cover. Since the day I'm still waiting clueless on the status on my visa and worried about my passport :( Anyone please suggest from your experience how long this process takes until we get the passports delivered by USPS. Its been a horrible experience that I'm in total darkness and unable to track the status on my passport. Please help!

Appreciate your comments/feedback in advance.

Somnath Singh

I just received an email from them advising that currently they are processing passports received on April 24, 2013.

Good luck all, we can just wait patiently and hope that it is sent to us soon.

Hi,

Yes you can apply as long as you have legal status in the country where you applying for. You need to show your I-94 document too :)

Hi,
My husband and I have applied to TRV using H1B and H4 visa.

My in-laws are here in USA and have applied using B1 Visa.
Both of them at NY consulate.
Any idea when we'll be getting our passports back?
Also,
did anyone among you get the visa as of today?
