PRRA decision in Kasak v. Canada

An Indian national PRRA rejected in Vancouver affected by Bill C-12 one year rule.
The report says the PRRA was refused. The Federal Court then granted a stay of removal on October 16, 2026, while the applicant pursued judicial review. The stay order is not an approval of the PRRA.

getting advice from a qualified Canadian immigration and refugee lawyer as soon as possible is essential. Each case depends on its specific facts and legal circumstances.

Hello Guys, did you u apply for your work permit after getting your ineligibility letters? if you have applied separately for work permit, how much fee of IRCC you have to pay? I have studied on it a lot, some source say, it is exempted for refugee claimant, some say it is partially exempt and some say fully 255$ has to pay.

How much you actually has to pay to IRCC?

Hello
Seems you applied claim recently and affected by C12 with one year bar rule. Not sure how the WP works for ineligible claims made now with C12. Most of us here are claimed last year and got the WP on the same day of surrendering the passport. We got the ineligible letters from this year April onwards passing of the bill, so most of all WP are still valid.
For new claimants under C12, no WP is issued at the sametime but have to apply separate through ircc by paying 155$. This is what the ircc website says.

Dear, you have paid IRCC work permit fee? or it is exempt?
could you please clarify whether you’re asking about the work permit application fee or the open work permit holder fee? The fees or exemptions may depend on the applicant’s circumstances and the type of application.

I came here first time while my wife and daughter come to Canada second time. so on the day of biometric, I have received my own open work permit, they have give ineligibility letters to my wife and daughter, but we all have received refugee ID on the same day, IRCC officer advised us you have to apply for work permit of my wife and daughter separately. My question is whether, we have to pay open work permit fee or we as refugee claimant are exempt this fee? and if we have to pay it, how much it is 255$ or 155$?

If anyone of you guys have gone through same ineligibility letter and you applied your work permit, please share your experience regarding my question.

My lawyer is asking to pay through my own credit card of 255$. While below link clearly shown 155$ while 100$ work permit holder fee is exempt. I checked from one another they confirmed it is 255$, I want to know from that person, who actually have paid it.
