Hi all,
I am planning to apply for a Canadian Visitor Visa to visit my uncle who is currently a naturalized citizen. He moved in around 2022 as PR and got his citizenship earlier this year.

For context, I am currently an undergraduate university student in Egypt. I lived in Saudi Arabia from 2009 till High School graduation with my parents (my father works there to this day). I still have my residency in Saudi Arabia, and I spend most of my university holidays back there.

I am planning to go to Canada for ~2 weeks. First, I would land in Toronto/Ontario/Montreal (there are no direct flights to Saskatchewan, hence whatever flight I find available is where we would be at) during the weekend, and my uncle would come there to meet me and enjoy the weekend there. By Sunday night/Monday, we would go back together to Saskatchewan where he lives. I will be staying over with him. We would later travel both of us back together to Egypt.

I have some questions:
1. In the residency section, which should I put, Egypt, or Saudi? Is it possible to just add both?
2. I will be financially dependent on my father for travel ticket, allowance, etc. But, I would be staying with my uncle which means that housing, food, etc would be on him. How should we structure the Letter of Financial Support & Letter of Invitation?
3. I have a company in Saudi Arabia, though I have not yet had any work via it (I am still starting up and should be done with my first product by late 2026 earliest). Should I add the business registration document even though if it does not have any products/work done yet?
4. I have supplementary credit cards from my dad's main credit card. The utilization limit for the Supplementary CC are set to the maximum possible (which is the credit line). Should I also add the Credit Cards Statement?
5. My father does not maintain a "savings" account. His salary and all cash/money are under one account. This means that there are some few times where the account balance may be low, but the credit cards have very low utilization. Would this cause an issue? Or, if we add his salary certificate from his employer would that be okay?

Thanks a lot.

1. Your residency is where you live now so Egypt.
2. How old are you? So you include his personal bank statements over the last 4-6 months showing that you can afford the visit. However you don't live in same country so that may be an issue because you don't have access to those funds in Canada. Show that you can make withdrawals from the account. Uncle writes a letter of invitation with itinerary and where you will stay.
3. You show business but need to show that you have clients, bank statements and paid taxes.
4. Credit cards are not cash so don't need to. Relying on CC shows you cannot fund the visit.
5. Depends on what is low. He has to show a minimum of $10k cash for your visit plus supporting himself, spouse and children. So he wants a high balance.

There are several red flags with your file - no family ties (single, family doesn't even live), no strong ties to return (business in Egypt, income property, job) and possibly no travel history.

1.
2. I am 19 years old. Yes, I do not live in the same country but I do have residency there. In fact, i might be flying to Canada from Saudi!
3. then, theres no need to show the business docs in the first place. as i said, because i am still starting with the business, my applications are not ready yet. (by the way, the business is in Saudi Arabia and not Egypt)
4. I see. Thanks for the note
5. Low is below 10k$ cash. Is his monthly salary around 10k$ cash? Yes. Not including property income!

I do have frequent travel history between Egypt & Saudi (if that counts) and visits to other countries in the GCC.

1. So if you are flying from Saudi then you show ties to return to Saudi - job, business, property and school. If you cannot do that then Egypt. Flying from a country doesn't mean anything.
2. Business - so nothing to show.
4. Funds - Property is not cash in the bank nor is future income. You want to show a minimum of $10k cash for the visit. So your father needs to show personal bank statements with that as a minimum over a 4 month period but show considerably more so he can support his family.
5. Travel history - The countries and the GCC you listed are not travel history to IRCC. Travel history is to visa countries like US, UK, NZ and AUS.
