They asked me for information about my military service, so I submitted a letter explaining that I had never served in the military. According to my GCMS notes, after reviewing the letter, the agent also noted that they believed I had not completed any military service.

Despite that, my application was still moved into non-routine processing. There is nothing in the GCMS notes confirming that this happened because of the military service issue, and honestly, I cannot find any clear reason for it.

At this point, the only explanation I can think of is that I have been extremely unlucky with the process. I came to Canada in February 2021, and I still do not have my PR.

I don't have any exemptions. I just didn't serve in the military. I think everyone has different conditions. Relating cases to each other does not make sense to me. Only thing I know is there is no timeline for non-routine applications. I'll probably talk with a lawyer about my current situation.

The fact that it hasn't started yet signals that it's not A34, in my opinion, but IRCC is so unconventional that I wouldn't be surprised if they later steer it towards A34.

Apri 24th 2023 Applicant, nothing after eligibility on August 2024, still nothing, I've tried everything, no one answers, even mandamus has 1 year waiting time, apparently life is not fair to some of us more than others, I guess I just have to accept faith. Congratulations to all that got their Pr and moved one with their life, just be thankful to God or universe or whatever, some of us are still suffering for no reason for years.

Please be patient. We are all in the same boat, and I truly understand how painful and exhausting this waiting can be.

Now, if nothing changes within the next two months, I may lose my job. After years of waiting patiently and following every rule, I honestly feel like the system is pushing me toward losing my livelihood and possibly becoming homeless.


It is heartbreaking to live with this uncertainty every single day. All we can do is stay strong, support each other, and hope that this nightmare finally comes to an end.

A friend of mine also had their work permit approved after seven months. How is it possible for a work permit application for a "protected person" to remain stuck for that long?

You are essentially stripping someone who has the right to live and work in Canada of their right to work. There is no excuse for this; it is a completely wrong—and, in my opinion, unlawful—practice.

Bro, I have seen some people who came to Canada in 2015, got their Notice of Decision in 2023, and are still waiting for their PR. So always think about the people out there who may be going through a similar or worse situation than you. Take it positively and don’t stress yourself about being unlucky with this process.


Just continue with your life. You already have your NOD, and you can do whatever you want with your life and live as much as you want. I know PR is important, but your life is more important. This card will come one day, and life will keep going, so just be mindful.
