RPRF Refund?

This morning I received an email from IRCC with an attachment. It was a refund of $525.

I just received AOR about a week ago. I didn't receive any explanation for the refund neither in email or GCKey. I did have a returned application for a shortfall in May, so i did have 2 receipts, plus the email asking for additional information in my resubmission. Had this happened to anyone else?

A refund email after receiving AOR can definitely be confusing. Since you mentioned that your first application was returned and you had two payment receipts, one possibility is that the refund relates to a duplicate payment or a fee from the returned application.


However, the refund reason should normally be linked to a specific receipt or payment reference. I would check both payment receipts and compare the amounts to see which one matches the $525 refund.


Receiving a refund does not automatically mean that your current application has an issue, especially if you already received AOR. AOR generally means IRCC found the application complete enough to enter processing.


If you cannot identify the reason from the email attachment or your IRCC account, you can contact IRCC through the web form and ask for clarification, including your application number and receipt numbers.

$525 was the original cost of the RPRF prior to the increase. I did top up, but not "double pay" so it would definitely be short now.

I suppose I should submit a webform.
