2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Guys, my PR application was submitted by paper. I heard that people who applied by paper usually receive P2 much later because the officer has to create the PR Portal account for them, and apparently, this can take a long time. However, people who submitted their PR applications online seem to receive P2 much faster.

I’m worried about this. If anyone has experience receiving P2 after applying for PR by paper, could you please share your experience with me? I would really appreciate it.

Hello guys.
Just for to keep hope, people with dependants overseas.
Im August 2023 applicant. I got PR on May 2026.
My dependants were contacted since May asking for some documents.
And they received now in September the request for passports, ready for the PR visa and the COPR (of course they need to do the landing for the PR to be valid) but this is a light in the darkness, a relief after almost 5 years apart from my family. Probably ,it will take full 5 years until they finally can come here, but there is hope and I want to share it with people with dependants overseas.

Wow that is still incredibly fast even with the pilot program. Are you children minors without a parent in their home country? Given the 1 time policy even more dependents are being added to the backlog.

No. But maybe because the well known violation of human rights in my country they speed it up.

We submited all documents quickly as they request. Have years to prepare them so, no time to lose.

Still need to submit passport. It's not done yet. But we are close. What my spouse received is the ready for visa letter.

No idea what are the parameters or if it depends on your officer (lazy or no), but did you requested/ checked your notes?

I heard for some countries the security takes longer. Like for some middle east countries or in war countries. Maybe is your case.

I got P1 right now. I submitted my application in September 2023.

Could you please tell me if it would be better to take my picture for P2 today, or should I wait? If there is a problem with the picture, London Drugs will accept it and fix it if it’s within 15 days.

Also, could you please guide me? When do you think I will receive P2?

at this point everything is scanned and loaded on the system. i doubt there is any difference.

Three individuals told me this. Other than these three people, I don’t know anyone who submitted their PR application by paper, and all three of them received P2 after waiting 2 or 3 months.

After waiting for 3 years, having to wait an additional few months for P2 feels so unfair.
