Hi, for someone working as an incorporated independent contractor data analyst, what should we put in job title and the employer section - Is it the company we worked for or the name of our incorporation?

Also, while adding work history on your citizenship application, the address being asked, for T4 roles, is that the address of your employer or your personal address where you were based for that duration?

And if its an independent contractor, then is it the address of the company we worked for or address of the incorporation or our personal address?

job title: Director/Chairman/President/Partner etc whatever designation your company documents mention
Employer: Name of you own company incorporated
When you incorporate a limited liability company, you are a shareholder /owner, if you take salary from company, you are its employee

Q10: Home address history
Q11: Work address history

The reason why its confusing for me is because most of my jobs have been remote jobs. Because they were remote, I have always worked from home even if its incorporated or T4. Hence in the work history section, when it asks for Employer or educational institution and then Address, I need to make sure, if its my own address because thats where I have been performing my job or the address of the employer on my T4s?

@knowwhat , I am in the similar situtation. I worked for few months as an incorporated independent contractor Data Engineer. May I know what did you put in job title and the employer section?

For an incorporated independent contractor, I would use the job title that best describes the actual work performed, such as “Data Engineer – Incorporated Independent Contractor.”

For the employer, I would list the legal name of your own corporation because that is the entity through which you provided the services and received the income. The client company can be mentioned in a short explanation if needed.

For the work address, I would use the corporation’s registered or business address. Your personal home addresses should still be listed separately and completely in the address-history section, especially since the work was performed remotely. The main goal is to keep the information accurate and consistent with your contracts, invoices and tax records.
