Submitting my EE profile while unemployed

Hi! so i will complete 1 year of full-time TEER 1 work in Canada by the end of July and by which time i will have a CRS of 536- unfortunately it looks like that im being laid off shortly after hitting the 1-year mark.

i believe i can expect an ITA fairly quickly but also anxious if being unemployed will create a problem during the process...

also besides the reference letter, is there anything else i should make sure to get from my employer before my last day?

No issue if you have one year. Don't need to be employed. Change status to visitor.

Being unemployed when you submit your EE profile isn't a problem. CEC requires one year of skilled Canadian work experience in the last 3 years. It doesn't require you to be currently employed. With 536 CRS you should get an ITA fast.

Before your last day, make sure you get a reference letter on company letterhead with your job title, NOC duties, hours per week, and exact start end dates. Also grab your last few pay stubs and keep copies of your T4s. If your employer does layoffs formally, keep the ROE too. These are harder to get once you're gone.

As long as you have the funds to support yourself after landing if shouldn’t be an issue. You can also update your file if you find another job during processing.

Being unemployed shouldn’t disqualify you from CEC once you’ve completed the full year of eligible work experience.
I’d just make sure you don’t claim the experience until you’ve actually reached the required period.
