No. If you have refugee status you came here due to fear of persecution, torture or cruel treatment. Why would you even think to go back? If you go, you risk not being allowed to return and you will have no protected status from the Canadian Government.

I don't know the legalities of this. Weekday province are you in - it's best to speak to a organization that handles refugee issues and/or a lawyer.

Your messages read as someone who is just trying to obtain PR in Canada. Why would you claim asylum in Canada if you want to go back to your home country ... the point of a refugee status is that you are fearful for your safety or life. Secondly, I would be cautious that if you were to cancel the refugee status and continue with the spousal sponsorship that IRCC will see that as you trying to secure PR and not a genuine relationship.

You shouldn't travel back to your home country until you're a full Canadian citizen. Even then, I would get legal advice whether that's advisable.

You need to speak to an organization that handles refugee cases.
