You must provide copr document as it states the category in which you became PR [let's say someone claimed asylum, why will India give them oci?] Did you lose IMM 1000? If yes, apply for VOS from IRCC. Once you receive that, you can submit it in place of the original COPR.

Oci application submitted in person at BLS Toronto June 24
Status still under process and not acknowledged yet at Indian consulate. Anyone with a similar timeline

Status changed to GRANTED, June 10 2026

Its been close to a month now, my OCI was granted. I recently downloaded eOCI as well. It says that they have dispatched the booklet from printing cell but not received in FRRO/MISSION.

With the fact that eOCI has been given, will I ever receive the hard copy or they stopped distribution of it

Query regarding cancelling Indian Voter ID and Ration Card for OCI, Can someone confirm on the below?

I am preparing documents to apply for OCI from Toronto and my Indian passport is already cancelled. I am preparing a fresh OCI application (Type A – former Indian citizen, now Canadian, Toronto jurisdiction). Regarding the Voter ID / Ration Card declaration: I previously held an Indian Voter ID, which I have already cancelled online (name deleted from the electoral roll). I do not hold a ration card in India and my name is not on any ration card in India. Could you please confirm whether the signed OCI Voter ID/Ration Card declaration is sufficient in my case, or whether I need to submit any supporting proof of the Voter ID cancellation at the time of BLS submission? Thank you.

Hello All, I want apply for OCI, and I just heard few days ago that we can directly apply to Indian highcomission website. we don't need to go to BLS anymore. is that true? or the procedure is the same that we can just fill out the form online and submit the application with all documnets to the BLS? I am very confused. can someone help me?

Just the signed declaration is needed, nothing else
