Hello everyone, I just wanted to come back and share an update on my journey.

I received my Portal 2 request on March 30, 2026. They asked me to confirm the address for my PR card and to upload a digital photo taken by a professional, which I completed the same day. After that, there was about three weeks of silence, and honestly, it was a bit stressful not knowing what was happening.

Then on April 21, I received the email I had been waiting for:

“Congratulations! You are now a permanent resident (PR) of Canada! IRCC has uploaded an electronic copy of your electronic Confirmation of Permanent Residence (eCoPR) document in the PR Confirmation Portal…”

At that moment, everything felt worth it. I was able to download my eCoPR right away, and it finally felt real. The very next day I walked into a Service Canada and changed my temporary SIN number to a permanent one.

Moving to another province worked, and I truly couldn’t have navigated this journey without the help, reassurance, and shared experiences from people on this forum. Your guidance gave me hope during uncertain times.

Thank you all so much for your support and best wishes. I genuinely wish the same success and happiness for everyone who is still on this path.
When did you applied forpr ?

Hi,

Though I had already mentioned most of this information earlier in the thread, here's a brief summary in chronological order:

  1. In April 2023, I applied for Permanent Residence through Quebec with a valid CSQ.
  2. About six months later, I received an email from IRCC confirming that they had received my application.
  3. In early 2024, IRCC informed me that they had found my medical exam on file and only required my biometrics.
  4. After that, there was no further communication for a long time. The application appeared to be stalled.
  5. During this period, I submitted several ATIP requests and inquiries, but each time I received essentially the same response: "We are working on your application."
  6. In March 2026, I moved to Ontario. I updated all my government-issued documents to my Ontario address, including my driver's licence, health card, and vehicle registration.
  7. I then submitted a webform to IRCC informing them that I had moved to Ontario, updated my address, and no longer intended to reside in Quebec.
  8. Within a few days, IRCC requested government-issued identification showing my Ontario address. I uploaded the requested documents.
  9. Shortly after, on March 30, 2026, I received the Portal 2 email. IRCC asked me to confirm my mailing address for the PR card and upload a professionally taken digital photo. I completed both requirements the same day.
  10. After approximately three weeks of silence, I received a message on April 21, 2026, congratulating me and advising that my eCOPR was available for download.
  11. Finally, I received my physical PR card by mail at my Ontario address on June 2, 2026.
That's the complete timeline of my case. I hope this helps.
