Hi everyone,

I wanted to check if anyone is in a similar situation or has experienced this delay.

Application details:

  • Outland (India), outside Quebec
  • Application submitted: 8 September 2025

Timeline:

  • Eligibility completed: 30 October 2025
  • Pre-arrival services email: received twice (latest on 3 December 2025)
  • Background check completed: 13 March 2026 (as per tracker)
  • COPR number and expiry date visible on tracker since 13 March 2026

Current status (GCKey):

  • Background check: still shows “in progress”
  • Final decision: “in progress” with last update date as 13 March 2026
  • No PPR (passport request) received yet

It has now been over a month (40 plus days ) since background completion, and there have been no updates.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation where:
  • Background shows completed in tracker
  • COPR details are visible
  • But GCKey still shows “in progress” and no PPR

How long did it take to receive PPR after this stage?

Any insights would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance

GCKey will update those details once PPR is done and ready for dispatch. As far as the delayed PPR is concerned, nothing to worry about except just waiting, sometimes endlessly. COPR number visible is a good sign. PPR should’ve been here already but do not worry, it will come soon!

If anyone is in a similar situation with a delayed PPR, please advise if at all there is anything that can be done about it other than just waiting.

Hey folks, does anyone know how we can confirm if the submitted photos have been accepted? Like a ghost update or an email around this?

Need this to plan our travel accordingly. Passport submitted to VFS Mumbai on 23rd April, reached IRCC Delhi on 27th April.

How was the process at the airport?
It was quite nice. I was accompanying the PA on her journey from home to Canada. Immigration part at the airport was busy but was properly carried out. In our case, everything was done in under 20 minutes probably because we were a little ahead in the immigration queue. It did seem like it would take longer as time progressed and the airport got busier and the queues got longer. This is the YYZ airport by the way, on a Tuesday morning.

Highlights:
- Exit Plane
- Immigration Self-Declaration Kiosks
- Briefly speak to a CBSA officer
- Upon clearance, proceed to the Immigration department to get COPR signed and verified, triggering PR Card arrival (at home in around 4 weeks)
- Optional: Meet with Newcomer Services to collect a helpful brochure about steps and services available for new immigrants
- Proceed to baggage claim
- Optional: Get a SIN from the airport itself
- Exit airport

We did not get a SIN from the airport. It was not too busy to get it at the airport itself but we were just so tired, wanted to leave the building, meet family that was waiting outside and simply head home. Will take the PA out exploring Service Canada and Service Ontario momentarily. Hah!

Hi, did you receive the PPR?

Hello..

Just need an information , i have a concern with the photos i have submitted for PR visa stamping (Family Sponsorship), outline dimentions 50×70 mm are matching but inside face length is beyond 36mm. I just realized now. Will it cause any impact for my visa stamping?

Would appreciate your reply on this ..
Hi, could you please confirm when did you receive PPR, I am in similar dilemma, bgc got completed on 25th april, no ppr yet

Hi. Here is break down of my case. On October 17th I recieved a ready for visa email, and on November 28th, I got married to my girlfriend of 9 months, applied to add her to my application and I got a PFL with a section 40 warning on Wednesday 6th may. The officer raised four Issues, 1) that I had met my partner in person for the first time in August and that we had only lived together for 2 weeks in October. 2). That my wife's medical was completed 8 days before our wedding ceremony, 3) that only 5 persons attended the registry ceremony, Just five friends who were all pharmacists, Also that I cited insecurity as the reason family didn't travel. 4). That all submissions indicate that I and my spouse continue to live several hours apart. I responded to the PFL by citing that although we indeed did meet in August 2025 for the first time due to work related constraints that our relationship had already turned romantic since March 2025. I attached a photo of telegram conversation in April where we discussed that spending 12 hours on the road to just spend a night together was not the best. We waited six more months when we saw there was not going to be a better time than what we had we settled to meet that way in August. I showed a history of our conversation from march till August. I also indicated that the following month from September 7th to October 27th I was in my wife's city for official purposes and of course we spent a lot of time together, several nights at where I was staying, meal planning, sex the whole 9 yards. This was initially at my hosts residence in Lagos. When I was done I moved closer to her residence and stayed at a hotel because of lack of consistent utilities at her residence for 2 weeks. So I guess I am trying to say we spent 7 weeks together, not 2 weeks we only cohabited for two weeks in the hotel. I had a plethora of chats to show this and one photo dated September 22nd or so. Then on medical being completed before her marriage ceremony while that is true, I cited that we applied for marriage on November 13th, with Receipts. Waited for the registry to do it's due diligence and approve the application which they did on November 18th. Only after we got the approval email that we went ahead to book the medicals in order to use time efficiently. I cited that I used this approach because I wanted us to land together as a couple ahead of winter as well as to see the world cup together as a couple. I showed a Whatsapp chat where I was discussing accomodation plans with a friend ahead of landing in July. As well as my accomodation preference as a "married man". Then on the size of the wedding I showed that I invited at least 16 of my peers. 8 said they were going to come and on that day only 5 showed up. I corroborated the security situation that I cited in my questionnaire that made I and my wife decide to not risk our families and friends travelling long distances with a presidential nation wide security emergency declaration that happened just 2 days to our wedding. I also added the updated Canadian and British travel advisory to show that the security concerns were real. To show this I attached news headlines from the presidential state house villa as well as other reputable news agency to go. In addition to that I also mentioned that although our parents were not at that ceremony, that they met in my hometown which is just 40 mins away from my spouses home town on November 22nd 6 days to the wedding. To prove this, I showed a chat where I was giving my wife directions to my hometown for her father's use on November 16th saying remember to tell him to visit on a weekend, and I got an affidavit from both parents confirming that they met on November 22nd and that they didn't attend due to insecurity along inter state routes. On his final point that we weren't living together, I confirmed that at the time of submission that we weren't. This was only because we decided for her to wrap up the year at her current work place. The reason for this strategy was to give me time to leverage my contacts to get a suitable role for her in my city. I showed two Whatsapp messages where I enquired about the availability of a role for my wife. And where I was sharing her CV. On December 18th and December 30th. I added that regardless of this decision we looked forward to our first Christmas together as a couple, however a few weeks to Christmas, my wife got instructions from her superiors to transfer to a branch that meant she would have to work through the holidays. She rejected that transfer and came to spend the Christmas holiday with Me. I attached evidence like bus tickets and photos showing we spent the Christmas together. Unfortunately her refusal to accept that transfer led to her termination on December 31st. I attached the termination letter because it corroborates this and the termination email time stamp. Ever since she lost her Job she has been living with me and I have been supporting her financially. I showed pictures of our married life together in our home and transfer receipts of various amounts for groceries and other things. This was my honest submission but I think I need an expert eye.
