It's interesting, that's at least 4 people on here (including myself) I've seen getting PR inside Quebec within about 2 years. Seems like they've cleared the backlog from that period.

My application fairly is straightforward, Been living in Canada and haven't left in last 8 years. We have no other dependents. Sponsor is a Canadian citizen.

Same situation here. Applied on July 24, 2024. No updates since Jan 2025. The background check hasn’t even started yet. Nothing has moved for over a year.

I would allow for approx 2 years since you first applied as that seems to be the norm at the moment for applications (without any complicated issues that may delay things further). A group of us on the forum applying within Quebec received our PR cards in approx 2 years recently. (We applied around Feb/March 2024.)

I have a question regarding the work permit. My husband’s work permit expires at the end of December this year. When I check the processing times for work permits (new and renewal) on the website, it’s now up to 258 days! At this rate, his permanent residence might only be granted toward the end of the year, if not early 2027. Would you advise me to submit the renewal application toward the end of this month, just in case the new application takes about 8 months to process or it's too early ? Thank you

Hi everyone. Looking for an advice. My CSQ was refused from MIFI for inland Common law application coz of not enough additional documents provided that were asked. I have since then gotten married but should I opt for a new application that is not common law but spousal and withdraw the current ongoing one. Since the CSQ is refused, IRCC is still technically awaiting for it but I have let them know this .
what comes after? Can they provide a new AOR for spousal from common law originally so I can apply fresh to MIFI as a continuation or the new application is the only solution here provided QC cap reopen on June 20,2026 and I withdraw the current one? Ty

Right to Permanent Residence Fee, it’s the fee you need to pay for PR to be granted usually requested when your file is about to he finalized if you did not pay it upfront
Yea so I actually paid it upfront but then I think they increased the fees from the day that I submitted so they request me to pay the balance but yea I paid it the same day they requested it October 3,2025
Perhaps your case is in its final processing stages then. Did you apply outside Quebec? Some of us got residency a couple of months ago after waiting for 2 years within that province.
[Edit - if I was in your position I would call IRCC about that. Maybe they can throw light on the delay.]
