My PR card was expired in 2024, so I stayed back in Canada. I've finished my residency obligation on 23-Feb-2026. Applied for PR card renewal on 4-March-2026. Card showed up in my mailbox on 24-March-2026. It took 20 days to receive the card, even though there is no change of status in the portal.
that was fast. hope we receive quickly too.

I recall doing a PRTD application in 2023 (online application) and it was approved in like 1 day, applied on Friday end of day, received PPR on Monday morning. That was super fast. For PR cards, I think they are a bit slow.

Applied online on March 11, 2026. No correspondence yet, not able to link to gckey.

Called this morning and they said they were still doing completeness checks, then they put the application in the main system, after which you can link which generates an application number.

They said they were working on applications from February 3rd. What? How is the processing time 27 days, if they're over a month behind?
i think the call executive told u abt normal pr cards and not abt pr card renewals. every renewal card is getting delivered in 20-30 days these days. the link application option doesnt work for alot of people even after the card is delivered.

did u check ur status & status id in json of the pr portal? does it show something like 20:completed?

I specifically asked the agent: This is for a renewal right, what you are mentioning. For online applications, not mail in.

The json still says id: 16, statusEn: "Ready for Review"

My application has below status in JSON of PR Portal. How many days does it usually take for the card to arrive after it is approved. Based on below details looks like it was approved on 19th March.

"createdAt": "2026-03-10 17:20:13.114931",
"updatedAt": "2026-03-19 13:46:58.530107",

"id": 20,

thats a sad news then. people saying canada post myt be going to strike in next few days.
There is no Canada Post strike expected in the next 30 days based on current updates. A tentative agreement has already been reached and workers are scheduled to vote on it between April 20 and May 30 2026. During this voting period strike action is paused so operations should continue as normal. The earliest any disruption could happen would be after the vote ends and only if the agreement is rejected. At least for the next 30 days it is safe. For now mail and deliveries should not be affected.

Someone mentioned they received their card about 19–20 days after applying, so you could estimate around 9–10 more days for yours or earlier. You might receive it by the end of March or around April 1st week. It's time to keep an eye on your mailbox.
