Did they do the final reading in the House of Commons for C-12 bill? When they will cancel the applications?

Hi everyone ! What’s exactly the difference between these three options for a gcms / ATIP request ? Which one is better ?
I chose the first one, but I didn’t receive much information (nothing about assigned officer for example or my updates). Do you think it would be better to select the second or third option next time?
Thank you ! :

Decision Note / Refusal Reason- The officer's final decision recorded on the application

- Application Summary - An electronic overview of the application's current status, including processing notes

- Complete Application File - Includes the summary report, all submitted documents, supporting materials, and correspondence with IRCC

I always choose Application Summary - An electronic overview of the application's current status, including processing notes

It has all the details we need. With this option i also got details what officer considered to give the AIP

I have a new question for Seniors here.

I am being impatient. I called MIFI again to confirm and i was told that an analyst is assigned and you should hear back in 25-30 days

Just wanted to ask, if any one knows applications under section 26 or Section 27. When i searched about section 26, it says that decision is taken faster on it. any one aware?

1 question it's not for you because there's no decision made on your file.
For me you should ask the 3 option so you can see what you lawyer did on your behalf you get your Gcms and the complete file of what you send it to them to make sure every evidence are on file let's says you provide something to your lawyer and they don't forward to IRCC or there's a mistake on your forms . I do believe because it's from Quebec you are in normal Timeline for the 1 stage

Yes this could mean they will evaluate the husband differently. Was the asylum claim based on the husband? Your spouse is actually quite lucky to receive a WP. Assume it may be due to the fact that the children are part of her application but it is still fairly common for WP to be denied in those circumstances How long was the WP granted for? Are the children Canadian citizens?

How would this case be considered under section 26? “Hear back” also doesn’t mean a decision will be made. It is very tough for these departments to give estimations, especially such precise ones, when it comes to processing times. The backlog volumes and the many changes when it comes to immigration make processing estimations even harder. Given your volume of calls they may have given you a timeframe to try to prevent more calls this month and because they can’t give you a very accurate approximation. All you can do is wait no matter how many calls you make. The H&C system is a huge mess and there are many changes to immigration programs happening behind the scenes especially in preparation for bill c-12 passing. This all leads to much more uncertainty and more difficulty giving accurate processing estimates. Hopefully you’ll hear in 25-30 days but if you don’t the only option remains to wait your turn. Your processing time is well within the processing times experienced by others and Quebec is aware of your file so all you can do is wait.

I am someone who has been through difficult situations in life, I know what it means when life gives you lemons (because when life puts you through hardships, you are meant to become more compassionate toward others, not to take out your stress and anxiety on people who are also vulnerable....). I encourage you to stay positive and to remember that you will be rewarded for every hard moment you go through. Who knows? There may be changes in your favor, which is quite likely from a legal standpoint (particularly under administrative law like immigration law).
If you are in an urgent situation, you can try to put pressure on Quebec immigration authorities by sending a letter of explanation or by seeking assistance from your provincial Member of Parliament.
Alternatively, it is possible for you to settle in Ontario, although it is not as advantageous as it used to be, since processing times outside Quebec are also quite long. However, your case might be expedited given that it was submitted a long time ago. You may also be able to access the Ontario health insurance card (they might tell you no, but I am quite certain it is possible).

Good luck to your mother hope she will become a well-integrated and loyal citizen of Canada !!!

Hi, I called MiFi to ask about my CSQ application that was submitted, and the agent said they received it in March 6th and it was « confirmed » on March 20th. Is this possible? What does confirmed even mean? Does it mean accepted? I called again to clarify and the second agent had even less information?? TIA

>because when life puts you through hardships, you are meant to become more compassionate toward others, not to take out your stress and anxiety on people who are also vulnerable...

My philosophical take - I'd say that life in general doesn't work like that. In general there are things that make someone more compassionate:
1. hardship can lead to a better character, but only if someone responds well to it. Most people don't and the retention of the character is questionable to a large degree for even those who temporarily acquire it.
2. Suffering won't lead to empathy simply because intentional practice to cultivate compassion is missing from most people. This thread is a big example of it. Most participants of this thread are extremely selfish, ignorant and clearly lack compassion. Ironic for a H&C thread.

What echoes throughout the forum from what I see is "I suffered, so why shouldn't you" or more similar narratives. There's barely any compassion. Enduring hardships is not the same as reflecting on hardships - the ones who do the later develop character, most don't!
