Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help.
I see in this forum that some of those who applied in Oct 2025 are still waiting for their super-visa approval in March 2026! So I assume that approximately 6-7 months is the current processing time of super-visa. However I also see that there are some who applied and received visa within 1 month (though this is rare!)

My case:
The supervisa of my parents (75+ age), who are currently living in INDIA, is expiring in Nov 2026 (Application submitted March 2017).
Most likely (not sure) they won't be visiting me this year, and their visa will be expired by the time they want to visit me. However we want to have options regarding the date of travel, and want to ready with the visa whenever they are ready for travel.
If I prepare all paper-work and submit my application by 1st week of April 2026, then Oct 2026 will be the 7th month from the application date. At that time they will have just 1 month left towards their visa exp date.
I don't know (still learning), but I am assuming I need to submit a brand-new super visa application for them (correct me, if I am wrong) and I will get another supervisa with 9-10 years validity depending on the validity date of the passport.
Unfortunately, I don't remember anything procedure-wise, from the application that I submitted myself (!) 10 years ago!

My questions:
1. Should I apply for an extension, or submit a fresh application (my parents are living in India; last visit to Canada was 3 years ago)?
2. Do you think I can use the IRCC portal "NEW" version (I am 40+ year old) for my 75+ parents? Or only the parents can apply for themselves? My parents won't be able to fill in the online forms, so I will be doing it for them! Is there a part where there is signature, where I can give the username and password, so they can open in India and sign (if there is a digital signature), but I can do the rest here in Canada, including paying the fee using my Canadian credit card? (My parents do not have/use ATM cards. They transact using cash and bank transfers)
3. Should I fill out the form "use of representative", does filling out this form makes the application portal, or anything else, different or complicated?
4. I have seen in timelines where people submit medicals within 1 or 2 days. How do they do it? I guess, it will take atleast two weeks, since they will need to take an appointment , and then go there for check up, and also wait for results. Can they do the medical check up before application submission? That way, if they have a medical condition that will deny them visa, they can save at least the application fee! Do they not require a medical test request/invitation in order to book an appointment with a panel physician?
5. Considering that my parents are in India, I should be looking at the "supervisa documentation requirements of India" (not Canada), right?

1. Not sure about this.. i had similar case but their regular visitors visa expiring soon.. so now i applied super visa
2. My parents are India too. I have filled everything here online. Just sent them use of representation form for the signature. They signed and send the photocopy to me and i attached it. I paid all the fees here from my canadian card.
3. Yes. Fill use of representative form
4. For medical, you can go to nearest IRCC approved panel physician and ask them to do upfront medical examination for super visa.
Once medical exam is done they will provide 2 documents which you can upload while submitting application.
