OCI as Proof of Relationship ?

Hi there,

I'm applying for a supervisa for my mother and I need to submit a proof of relationship. I"m a Canadian citizen now so they don't mention parent's name on the passport. I have a birth certificate but my name has been shortened due to length issues (I guess) on it. Like Venkata Sri Krishha Anil to Venkata S k Anil. But my parents names are correct. But I have my OCI which has everything correct. Can I use OCI as a proof of relationship instead ? Has anyone used OCI?

In the same boat. My birth certificate does not have my mother's name. Will have to wait to see what happens.

So i've submitted the following (all notarized):
-Affidavit from me stating the relationship.
- OCI
- Old Indian Passport
- 10th grade mark sheet
- 12th grade mark sheet
