Hi, when I called the IRB inquiring about my case the officer said they're waiting for a judge to look at my case.. what does that usually mean? Like to determine whether it is a file review/less complex case or a full hearing would be required and send me a notice to appear? Or just to determine hearing date immediately? what would they mean at this stage?

Thanks

A “judge” is not needed to determine whether your case qualifies as less complex and whether you need a short or full hearing. There is a huge backlog of cases so it can now take 2-3+ years to have a hearing and the wait times will continue to increase.

Is your background check was complete from cbsa?

I don’t know why some people on here are so eager to give discouraging feedback. Processing timelines for people applying today is 17 months. 17 months as of today is the maximum wait time. I don’t know where you are getting your information from.

You’re giving wrong information. 17 month is for those who applied for PR. This person is yet to do his hearing!

Ok then my question is still on, what would that mean? Why did they mention a judge at this point?
