Hi, I have a random question, did your PPR letter had this line:

Note: For super visa applications, passports must be submitted to a visa application centre
outside Canada for insertion of a visitor visa.

Yes that is standard. You also have to apply outside of Canada.

Thank you! I spoke with a CSC agent the day I got PPR because I was very surprised by the ultra fast timeline and the agent mentioned during the call that the application is being processed as a regular visitor visa and not super visa. The same agent was very misinformed on something quite basic so I didn't act, and hoped for the best.

Reading @Hot2Cold 's situation, reignited the fears, so I spoke again with CSC and another agent reconfirmed the regular visitor visa narrative. I was going through an archive CIC page yesterday and it said the standard template differ based on how and what visitor program is the application assessed for in the backend, so wanted to check and see if there's any hope to hold on to. I am doubtful but will continue to hope... will update you all when I find out.

Sharing timeline for my mother in India:

Applied - December 24th
Biometrics - December 27th
Decided to do Medical upfront - December 31st; submitted via webform on January 3rd and receipt confirmed by IRCC on January 6th
Passport Request and Decision - January 13th; passport sent on January 15th via VFS

I was worried by the super quick decision as I was prepared to wait for at least 4months if not the standard 6months wait time. Good to know someone else also had a similar experience.

I will update you all on if she got visitor or super visa when I find out.
what is there to panic
every day some applications are picked up by AI and processed in 21 days. you are jot the first. So everything is fine

Wait and see what happens. I would not trust the CSC agents at IRCC

that was a knee-jerk reaction to a process that, on average, takes a few months, but was completed in just 19 calendar days. Plus, my own experience with them over years has been delayed processing. Obviously in retrospect there was nothing to worry about but thanks for the analysis!

We got the passport back with the reason: "No Passport Request was sent at this time. Your application is still in progress"

Now we wait...

Everyday we see some applications getting approved by AI. Very normal

Since in the last two interactions with CSC, they seemed very confident that it was a regular visitor visa, I raised a webform today requesting to review/reconsider the application. I also called CSC again and this particular agent seemed knowledgeable and precise with their approach, after reviewing the submissions, they also sent a message to the processing office for a review. Hopefully the office will intervene and change course before the passport is stamped, fingers crossed now...

Hi All, I applied for my mothers supervisa on 17th Dec 2025. We have received biometrics request next day but we didnt get any email, so we never checked the portal. The biometrics deadline has expired. Raised a webform for extension. Havent heard back from IRCC. Can we give biometrics with expired letter? What else can I do to make sure application is not refused? If anyone have a similar experience. Please share

Assuming IRCC has partnered with VFS where your parents are located, you need to upload the letter to the VFS system and it verifies the info and auto books an appointment for you. I doubt it would accept an expired letter. You did the right thing by raising a webform, they usually take 3-4 business days to respond. The only thing you can do at this point other than waiting is calling CSC at +1 (888) 242-2100. Most likely they should be able to accommodate you, hope it all works out!!
