Guidance needed for courses in canada

Hi,

I am currently preparing to go to canada on student visa basis for next january intake .After contacting with consultants regarding canada study and searching on internet . I am literally confused regarding which course should i go for which later on will help me to get a job and which time length course should i choose i.e. for 1 year or 2 year course since my post study work permit duration will also depend on the duration of program i choose.

Many consultants which i contacted are saying " that i should go for general courses like Global business management or International business management or supply chain management type of courses as they are general courses and you get job easily(as per consultants view). And if i take such above mentioned courses then i wont have problem with study visa refusals .

On the other hand some consultants are also their who said that " i should go for courses in my field of study and work like financial planning course or professional accounting course which will help me in prerequisite for CPA too .They said that by choosing courses of my field wont lead to my study visa refusal .They suggested me not to go for general course as chances of student visa rejection are there.

And researching on net also is not helping me get a clear idea of which course will be really helpful in my case.As everywhere ist written their respective courses will be helpful and all.


So it would be really helpful if i get some guidance

Bachelors of Commerce - from M.S. University ,vadodara, Gujarat ,India (2012-2015)


Master of Commerce (Accounting specialization ) (2015- 2017 )from
M.S.University ,vadodara ,Gujarat,India
and

P.G.Diploma in Taxation(2017-2018)from M.S.university.

- You need to aim for a post graduate diploma or master or higher. Stay away from diplomas and graduate diplomas. These are a lower level of study then you have today and doesn't show progression in studies.
- Take a 2 year program if your aim is PR. That way you'll get a 3 year work permit afterwards and give yourself the highest chance of qualifying and being selected for PR.
- Stay FAR away from all private colleges and universities. They are garbage. Public schools only. Consultants may try to sell you on private schools. This is because they get a kick-back from these schools (i.e. payments) for sending students there.
- GBM, IMB and supply chain is what all consultants recommend to international students. Best not to take these programs since IRCC sees this all of the time and it makes it look like you're just another person who isn't a genuine student and is just trying to find a way to get to Canada. Pick a program of study that makes sense in light of your previous education and work experience.
- Apply yourself. Don't use an agent / consultant. Too many bad experiences with agents / consultants here.
- Spend time reading through the posts in the International Students section of the forum so that you can understand how to put together a strong application.

Given your background, going for a course aligned with your field makes much more sense. You already have strong education and five years of experience in accounting and taxation, so programs like Professional Accounting, Financial Planning, or even a CPA pathway look logical and credible for a visa officer. General courses like Global Business are easier, but they can raise questions about career progression. A 2-year program is usually better because it gives you a 3-year PGWP, which helps a lot for jobs and PR. The key is to show a clear study-to-career progression, not just “going abroad for any course.”

Hello,
I need urgent advice about my TRV application.
My application is approved / decision made, but I cannot access my GCKey account because 2FA OTP codes are sent to my former representative’s email which I do not control.
I submitted IMM5475 to cancel/remove the representative and requested to update my email and re-issue my PPR / passport submission letter. I have already sent multiple follow-ups (Dec 7, Dec 15, Jan 13) and submitted a Webform with IMM5475 + passport copy (Jan 14), but still no response.

Questions:
How long does it usually take IRCC/visa office to remove a representative and update email?
What is the fastest escalation option if I don’t have an MP or lawyer?
Should I stop emailing and only use Webform?
