Finally after a long wait, I received my Oath date this morning. Will have citizenship ceremony on July 15. Thanks for all the support. And I wish best of luck to everyone waiting.

Any idea how long ircc take to respond after a passport copy is requested ?

Usually they do in a few days but in some cases can even take months if they are verifying the data with other agencies

Hi, we are on the same page. I got stuck in the background check and prohibition. I applied for GCMS in February, no problem; I am just stuck in the other processing office. I applied on June 13. The last update was on October 17, 2024.

Any update on your application? I am inquiring for a friend who is on the same boat with you... applied May 2024, last update was Aug 2024 and nothing after. Any suggestion would be appreciated!

If you are waiting on your application from a long time, try this:
Submit a webform and attach any document relevant to your application.
This will prompt the office to look at your application.
I have came across many stories where people had tried this. 80% time it works!

I am also at the same boat. Applied on May 2024. We are stuck in deep screening check. Sent webforms 4-5 times, contacted MP 3 times without any progress! Unfortunately, I think still should wait for another 8-9 months. why? the IRCC citizenship page now shows how many applicants are waiting ahead of you by your month of application. what I could get there by setting application date on different months of 2024 is that they monthly finalize about 2500 applicants that are stuck from 2024 and about 27000 applicants are ahead of us. So maybe another 8-9 months should wait. Maybe not reasonable but IRCC is a black hole that nobody knows what happens there. Maybe considering a writ of Mandamus is a good idea. but without a lawyer it is complicated and with lawyer it cost something between 2000-8000$ based on each case! Not much thing we can do. People from Oct- Nov 2023 or even earlier are still waiting!
