Hi everyone, I am calculating my 2-year CEC eligibility.

My Situation

  • I have worked for my Canadian employer for 2 years, started January 15th, 2024.
  • Each year, I took 2 weeks of paid vacation (1 week in US, 1 week in India). I assume this counts as Canadian experience.
  • However, I also spent 2 additional weeks in India each year working remote for the same employer.
Since I was physically outside Canada for those 2 'remote work' weeks, do I need to deduct them from my CEC total?

If I deduct those 4 weeks total (2 weeks x 2 years), my eligibility date shifts from Jan 15 to Feb 12 2026. Since my ITA expires in March, is it safer to just wait and submit after Feb 12 to cover that gap?"

Do I have to mention that as foreign work experience explicitly? Also, the two-three weeks allowance that is mentioned on the IRCC's website, is it 14 vacation days or 10 working days of calendar 2 weeks (5 days a week)?

Were you working or was it vacation? Your second bullet is vacation. Your third bullet is foreign experience so you break out your work experience by Canadian, foreign, Canadian experience.
