Hi, we got married in Canada. My husband is currently on a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), and I am in Canada on a visitor visa. Can I stay in Canada while my husband applies for permanent residence? If yes, do I need to extend my visitor status, or is it okay to stay while the permanent residence application is in process?

You need to extend your visitor status. The PR application does not give you maintained status.

Hey! You can stay in Canada while your husband applies for permanent residence, but you’ll need to make sure your visitor visa is valid. If it’s close to expiring, you’ll need to extend it. You might also want to look into applying for an open work permit if eligible!
