We contacted our MP and were told there can't be anything done as long as it's within the processing time. It's getting hard to keep my sanity when I see people with AOR in September are getting oath

Were you given the feedback immediately or did the MP at least try to contact IRCC? Realistically we passed our real average processing time (8 months when we applied).

They emailed me back and said: we talked to ircc and they said your application is within the process time. Literally told me everything that agent over phone has already told me. My criminality is passed and security is with third party and they can't do anything because it's outside of IRCC hand. So yeah nothing I didn't know already!

So let me take a wild guess. Even if you pass the 13 months and your application is still pending (hopefully not), they will tell you "we contacted IRCC but this is outside of their hands as its with a third party"

I think the processing time will keep getting pushed and eventually after 1 year they would probably say the same: It's outside of the hand of IRCC!

I used the MP route for my PR application as it was stuck due to an issue unrelated to me but my daughter.
They follow strict lines of correspondence. I cannot remember the exact timelines, but the first time I used the MP we got the reply like yours. Very much in line with what you can see on the tracker.
The second time was about 60 days later and the MP got a much more detailed reply and that helped clarify the holdup. The second nudge/inquiry from the MP certainly helped because a matter of weeks later things finally moved on.
Therefore to cut a long story short, use the MP route again in a few weeks, (check with them when you can inquire again without annoying Ircc etc.) and you may get a more detailed update.

I want to apply for Citizenship for me and my wife.

I got my PR via express entry in 2019 and then I took IELTS in 2017. My wife got her PR via spousal application .

For Citizenship proof for my wife, can I upload her bachelor’s degree certificate from India, and she is working in IT for last 10 years both in India and also in Canada combined, any of this would help for language? Did anyone did this personally and worked?

For myself, I don’t know how I can retrieve my IELTS results from 2017?

Any info would be helpful

I’m an April applicant but in the same boat as you’ll. I submitted group application with my spouse, both were requested for fingerprints in July. My spouse’ BG was marked complete in the big batch update end of August but not mine.

I spoke with an IRCC agent last week; he mentioned my FP part of background was complete (RCMP?). My file is in Sydney.

Hoping BG clears before the Christmas break, looking very bleak though.

Received an interview invitation for later this month for both - my spouse and me. However, my background check still shows as “In Progress.” Does anyone know what this might indicate? From what I’ve read, interviews are typically scheduled only after the background check is completed.

Don't worry. Interviews are usually for confirming your language skills or physical presence. My friend had an interview before his background was approved and the agent gave him some insight about his background process. Make sure you keep an eye on your email for requested documents for interview. It's going to be quick chat and if you like, you can ask about your background process from the officer. Good luck! I received an invite for Jan 26th. In my case I can understand as I had 2yr gap after I got my PR, and then in the subsequent 3 year qualifying period several trip to US due to my work and my LPP is pending. For my spouse, it's all green except for Oath ceremony, still they are invited to an interview. Any idea what would be asked? I am assuming its going to be about Physical presence. My BG is completed and due to work, I am currently in US and would be till middle of this year.
