It’s been almost 8 months since I applied, with the last 4 bringing no updates whatsoever. I’m starting to accept that this is going to be a long process. I have two major life events in 2026 that depend on me obtaining citizenship, but I’m trying to come to terms with the possibility that there won’t be any resolution anytime soon.

I’m exhausted from checking the tracker every day at 6am. What should have been an exciting journey, and honestly a lifelong milestone, has turned into something discouraging, especially when I read about others stuck in background checks for two years.
I can't relate more... :(

Hi
I applied in march 2025 but since 1 august my citizenship application is stuck on prohibition.
any one in same situation ?

Hi! My AOR is March 12. The citizenship test was marked as completed on April 30, and I had a GU on June 3. Since then, there’s been no progress or updates at all, and I’m not sure when this waiting period will finally be over. What makes it even more frustrating is that the processing time just keeps increasing

Yes same here. But is yours a family application or single?

Yea its just a waiting game no matter what anyone says. When they eventually surpass the allowed time and someone gets the MP involved they reply it needs more security checks or whatever reason they come up with then.

Hi friends, whoever is still hanging here, I'd greatly appreciate your advice. I feel I am getting some sort of anxiety and obsession with FB and tracker and following the updates on other people who are waiting for Bg and prohibition. Does anyone have practical tips to keep my mind distracted for long enough (at least a week or so)? I tried deleting the FB or removing the website but I keep coming back like an addixtion and it's interrupting my life!
