Assylum claimants are not include in temporary residents for PR,it is just temporary foreign workers.

They are included as permit extensions
Whe they Extend or change the conditions on their work permit.

Not easy to answer unless whole facts of your case are known. What were your basis of claim for H&C? Did you applied yourself or through a Lawyer?

I applied through lawyer. My mom and my brother they citizens here.
I and my wife have good job and lots of volunteers work. I don't know what the basis of claim in my application.

Yes but why are they staying silent then ? They could just say directly that Bill C-12 mainly targets humanitarian consideration applications! I wonder what they’ll do afterward with the applicants whose files will be cancelled? Are they going to come get us from our homes? Lol, or handcuff us outside? Or will they do nothing at all, just issue unofficial threats to keep people in the shadows, working the dirty jobs that Canadians and permanent residents refuse to do? Or maybe they’ll give us citizenship instead

Doesn’t just target H&C. They don’t want to say anything until c-12 or an amended bill passes. Canada has started removing a lot more people. Normally people are willing to go after they exhaust all options since most don’t want to end up in immigration detention or having to be escorted on the plane which may draw attention. Also easier to return if you self-deport.

It’s the same all over the world — they prefer a constant flow of low-income workers. They keep accepting new people from outside Canada, while those who have already been living here for years don’t seem to matter

Canada ignored the issue for a long time. There is now a lot of push from citizens to reduce volume of temporary residents and people without status. We are already seeing changes that will make it harder to remain without status like not being able to get a driver’s license in some provinces.

Govt said they will prioritize temporary residents for PR,hopefully they will process the H and C backlog now specifically those who have cleared stage 1.

They appear to be targeting economic immigrants not H&C.

Yes, but by temporary residents, do they mean all temporary residents, including international students and also visitors with an H&C application, or only foreign workers ?

I have question. I came Canada in 2019 with my family(two kids age 4 and 10) .that time I applied refugee case and it was failed. Then I applied H And C In Feb 2023.
I only got AOR and biometric for my older kid. Right now I don't get any updates.
Can you tell me please in my case my kids are considered in Best interest of child

If processed BIOC will be considered but just having children is not enough these days there needs to be another element that makes your case exceptional.
