Hi, I am eligible under Express Entry (CEC) with a CRS of 408 and 1+ year experience as an Office Admin Assistant (NOC B). I have a job offer in Alberta in a tech occupation eligible for the Accelerated Tech Pathway. Do I need 12 months prior experience in this tech role, or can I apply immediately with the job offer despite my previous non-tech experience?

The NOC has to be your primary NOC in your EE profile so you need to have experience in the role. You cannot apply immediately. What is your EOI score? FYI - there were 291 tech pathway spots in 2025 without about 2700 in the pool. So your NOC and score have to be selected. Assume employer has eligible NIACS.

So I was working as office admin noc b sunce last one and half year so I already have express entry profile eligible in CEC. Now I just got a tech job , NAICS and job title everything is good. I am just curious do I need to complete 6months or 12 months experience in this tech job to be eligible for AAIP tech pathway or I can apply for it right away? I have CEC profile but with some other non tech job.

The bigger issue is this does not seem like a realistic pathway to PR. When does your WP expire?

Hi everyone, I need some advice. I applied to the AAIP – Alberta Express Entry stream under the Accelerated Tech Pathway and was selected with 67 points. I claimed points for a 2-year Software Development Diploma from Bow Valley College (Alberta), which I believed was my highest relevant education.

After receiving my ITA, I uploaded my foreign Bachelor's in Industrial Design with the ECA. AAIP now says that’s my highest credential (even though it’s unrelated to my current tech job), so they recalculated my score to 60 and asked me to explain.

Has anyone faced this before? Can anyone suggest how I could argue that I deserve the 14 points (4 for the diploma + 10 for Alberta education) instead of just 7 for the foreign degree? Any tips or examples would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, what did you end up doing? I am having a similar situation.
