Hi All ,

I am planning to invite my mom in super-visa category , she has never been to Canada so far and I am concerned about showing ties for a stay at home mother. I can show bank statement and some investment certificates she has in her name - which is approx 30 K CAD . I also have enough funds to support her , in this case do I still nee to go through the hassle of translating the documents in her name in my home country ? Please advice if the funds she has is enough ties back home and she is also supporting my grandmother currently.

Most document has her first name with Initials , so should I also get a notary of her name saying FirstName LastName is same as FirstName.L

This “ hassle “ you’re referring to are the rules

What language should my supporting documents be in?

Unless we tell you otherwise, all supporting documents must be in English or French.

If it is not in English or French, you must send it with:

  • the English or French translation and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translation and
  • a certified photocopy of the original document
I get that part about translating it to English or french, And my question is whether the Investment certificates and Bank account + Taking care of Grandma would be enough ties to the country ?

I know for Visitor visa they reject if the ties aren't strong, but the purpose of super visa is to have your parents for an extended period of time , so hence asking in the forum if its that important to show property ties , or if anyone faced rejection due to weak ties.

Still important to show ties to your home country with a supervisa especially these days. Although a supervisa allows you to visit for a longer time than normal TRV parents are expected to return home and many are attempting to remain so IRCC has become more strict about supervisa approvals.

Ah okay thanks , That clarifies my concern. I will try to include that document to support strong ties.
