Hey everyone, thanks for your help in advance.
Here’s our situation: I’m a Canadian citizen, and my common-law partner is on PGWP, which will expire in April 2027. We have lived together for more than a year, and we were living at my parents' house. However, since September, we haven’t been living together because I need to finish my studies in another city, while he’s working in Toronto (during the period where we are not living together, he will continue to live at my parents' house, and we still have the same address).
We’re both still in Ontario and plan to live together again in March 2026. During this period, we’ll continue to meet regularly on weekends and holidays.
In this case, if I plan to sponsor him for permanent residency, should we apply through the outland stream instead? Since the Family Class doesn’t strictly require us to live together the whole time, I’m wondering which option is more appropriate.
If outland, is he still eligible to apply for an OWP if he's PGWP is expiring. Thanks!!!
