Generally passport office is totally fine with dropping middle neames, esp if you have other docs without them. Just ask.

YMMV of course but I had no trouble with this ages ago and renewing etc.
In my case I was thinking of keeping my middle name, just that none of my other IDs (DL, Health Card) have it.

I doubt it will be a problem if your citizenship certificate has it. Again, YMMV.

BUT: it's your responsibility to insist on the name you consider you own. If you use some other name, consistently, common law basically will take over under simple principal 'the name you use is your name.'*

*This simplifies excessively but still keep in mind. You should not be applying for documents under a name you don't want to be your name.

Ironically, IRCC dropped my middle name during last PR renewal even though my SIN card, ON driver license and US passport all have my full name on it. It struck me as funny. They better not omit my middle name from the citizenship certificate as it won't match my US passport or birth certificate.

Hello everyone
We have been invited for in person oath ceremony.
What to do to change in virtual...
Thanks for advice.

Hello everyone, I just found this thread, would appreciate any input. I applied on Oct 11 2024 and got my AOR the same day, but since then there has been absolutely no updates to my tracker, all sections are "In Progress" and the citizenship test section is "Not started". I believe my application is routine (I suppose I might be wrong) and when I checked the application processing times I thought the time listed referred to time between AOR and test invite, but it looks like I misunderstood and my application is taking a strangely long time.

Top right corner of my application says "Updated: October 15, 2024" and the Application history only has one item: "Oct 11, Application filed, We have received your application and have begun to process your application. Information about next steps and required action items will be coming soon."

I just submitted a web form to inquire, but I'm a bit lost, any advice on what to do next?

Sounds fishy - typically, the AOR comes 2-3 weeks after submitting online, no?
My last update is January this year, nothing since.

You're right, it's been so long I got the dates wrong. Just double checked and I applied online on Sep 30 and got my AOR Oct 11 2024, which sounds reasonable, but zero updates since then, no test invite, no request for additional info. Got an automated response to my webform this morning saying "we're working on it". Will trying calling IRCC early tomorrow, this seems very strange.
