Just no luck with the IRCC phone number; they keep repeating automated messages, and hang up after stating that they are unable to transfer me to an agent. sigh!
From my experience, calling early morning 8-9am is the best time. If an agent is not available, you do get the option for a call back.Just no luck with the IRCC phone number; they keep repeating automated messages, and hang up after stating that they are unable to transfer me to an agent. sigh!
I was able to get through, and the update was that the medicals have expired, and it is upto the immigration officer's discretion on whether they'd request them again. From my experience, calling early morning 8-9am is the best time. so I guess that's why they don't show up on the online portal anymore?I was able to get through, and the update was that the medicals have expired, and it is upto the immigration officer's discretion on whether they'd request them again.
Yes, I noticed that too. I wonder if the processing time applies from the time that we apply or the updated ones? When I applied it was 22 months, then changed to 36 months for the longest time and now down to 26.hmm, I also noticed that the processing time on the website is showing 26 months, vs 36 months earlier
Correct. The agent confirmed thisso I guess that's why they don't show up on the online portal anymore?

Hi, can I ask what you ended up doing to address the gaps in education. I'm in the same situation. Do we mention the gap in section C or just explain it in a letter of explanation. Also do we need to mention summer breaks between the end of one school year and the start of a new one? Would appreciate your response on this. Thank youIn form 5669, under Education, can there be gaps in education?
Dependent's age is locked in when the application is submitted/received. It's not lock when interest to sponsor is filed.Hi everyone,
I’m in a unique situation with the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) and would really appreciate some advice.
My mom was sponsored by my sister under the PGP. When my sister initially submitted the interest to sponsor, I was 19 years old and was included as a dependent. We received an invitation to apply in October 2023. By that time, I had just turned 23 (my birthday is in July).
We both received our P1 letters in May 2025. My mom subsequently received her P2, eCOPR and PR card. However, I have heard nothing about my own application. After months of waiting, I requested GCMS notes and received them yesterday.
To my surprise, the notes state that I was found ineligible in March 2025 because I was “over the dependent age” (23). We were never notified that I was being removed as a dependent, yet I still received a P1 in May.
This has been very frustrating and confusing for me. There was no error on my part — IRCC took several years to draw from the 2020 interest-to-sponsor pool, and I naturally aged during that time. Shouldn't the “lock-in” age for dependants should be based on the date the interest to sponsor was submitted, not the date of the full application or invitation to apply, this feels like a loophole in laws.
I’m considering reaching out to my Member of Parliament (MP) or taking this further because of the unclear timeline and possible administrative error.
Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation? Or does anyone know definitively which date IRCC uses to lock in a dependent child’s age under PGP? Any advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
