I recently received my PR Portal (P1) email asking for my details and confirming if I am currently in Canada. The instructions mention I should respond within 7 days.

However, I have upcoming travel plans and will technically be outside Canada on the 9th day, which is 2 days beyond the given timeline.

My questions are:
  1. Is it acceptable if I respond to the P1 email a couple of days late?
  2. What could be the possible consequences of replying after the 7-day deadline?
  3. Should I inform IRCC in advance about my travel plans to avoid any issue?

Reply on time with details of your travel plans.
